This is sent to our secure backend server to process your request and is not stored after your session ends. Notification preferences — if you opt into push notifications, we store your preference locally on your device using standard iOS system storage. When you submit a search, your input (occasion, person description, and budget) is transmitted securely to our backend server, which forwards it to Anthropic's API. This data is processed in real time to generate your results and is not used to train AI models or retained beyond the duration of your request. When you tap a retailer button, you are directed to that retailer's website or app. These links may include affiliate tracking parameters, which allow us to earn a small commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. This helps support the development of Gift Box. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party websites. We encourage you to review their individual privacy policies. 6 Push Notifications Gift Box may request permission to send you push notifications. These notifications are used solely to remind you about upcoming occasions and encourage you to find a gift when it may be relevant. You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your iPhone's Settings app under Notifications → Gift Box. We send no more than one notification per week and never send promotional or advertising notifications. 7 Data Security We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. All data transmitted between the Gift Box app and our backend server uses HTTPS encryption. Our backend server is hosted on Railway and does not log or store your search inputs. Your API key and server credentials are never exposed in the app and are stored securely as environment variables on our server. 8 Children's Privacy Gift Box is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information. 9 Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
